So - Thursday

Thursday - while i still thought i was spending the weekend in Chicago - i went up to indy to do the whole oil change/yearly making sure my car wouldn't die on me (4 years old and only 30,000 miles so it better not die on me)...

So when i got back to town - thirsty thursday was dieing out. There were only 3 people still around. As we talked and i considered how to ask jessica (a different jessica from the post below) what her status was - some people started to trickle in. The thirsyist took off and i was about to retreat home.

Until - I overheard (which isn't hard to do since we were at the alley) one of the girls* say that it was this guys birthday. Well - since the alley has like 4 tables - and i had sole possession of one - i decided a good birthday gift would be - the gift of a table (laugh if you will - this is a prized object here) ... he thanked me told me he was a bartender at sports and that i should stick around for another beer.

It was his birthday - what could i do but say yes.

Now. The alley is great because they serve HUGE GOOOOOOD beers. Micros and imports on draft. Quite stunning that more students aren't there. It is right next to the Crazy Horse and the Irish Lion - both great bars - so the students who know of them (and who doesn't? I knew about blarney puff balls long before i turned 21)

So the girls he was with were 'bud light' girls ie chicks who get paid to buy beer for people but mostly college kids. So before i knew it they had gotten me a beer or two and i was chat'n it up with them. A little later we hit the Crazy Horse - where, of course, more beers were had.

I also picked up a few clients (assuming that a conflicts check works out) - which is a bit strange - but it works for me.

I got home safe and sound (i didn't allow them to get me the shots they were doing)

but that was just my second thursday night - after being bummed about not being able to hit chicago for the weekend...

after a year and a half of living as a hermit (and being emotionally abused by an emotional child [ie the ex]) all is turning to the good.
